AI Skipping Risks - Patent Related Documents
AI can review a patent-related document without actually looking at every word.
That is a problem.
Depending on how an AI system retrieves and processes information, it can skip over portions of a long document while still producing a convincing answer.
In patent practice, that can be dangerous.
When reviewing patent-related documents, the details matter. A term, limitation, or disclosure buried somewhere in the document can change the analysis.
The goal should not simply be to ask AI what a document says.
It should be to build workflows where we can be confident that AI, the practitioner, or both have actually accounted for every word that matters.

Why AI can produce a confident answer without actually accounting for every word in a patent document;
How skipped content can create real risk in patent review and prior art analysis; and
What better AI review workflows should do to reduce that risk.
